
Women in the northern parts of Ghana fetch wood for domestic fuel. Most of them even make a living by cutting wood especially the Shea tree to burn charcoal and gather same as fuel for sale. Trucks leave these villages full of fuel wood and charcoal for towns and cities. That is why Ups Avenue for Development has targeted northern rural to sensitize them against felling of trees. They are made to understand the climatic damage felling of trees does.
