PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
This sensitization program is being organised in collaboration with Network for women’s Rights in Ghana and the Regional Focal Point and members for Network for women’s rights in Ghana, Ashanti Region, to sensitize women traders at the Race Course market on their rights and well as their responsibilities so as to ensure their income security, decent work and economic autonomy is realised. The program is intended to help address the persistent violations being meted out to women on a daily basis as they carry out their work, thereby inhibiting the women traders from enjoying their economic rights.
OBJECTIVES
The objectives of the sensitization program is:
- To increase Public awareness of Women’s Economic Rights
- To arm women traders with sufficient knowledge of their Economic Rights as well as their responsibilities so that they could protect themselves from practices that violate their human rights.
- strengthen the capacity of women to organize themselves to claim their rights, and participate in decision-making processes at the local level

PARTICIPANTS
The sensitization will target Women traders, Market Queens, Market Managers, the Market Administrator at Bantama Sub-Metro, Network Members, Ministry of Gender and Social Protection.
